"Recreational kayakers on the Red River found what appeared to be a body sized object heavily wrapped in plastic and duct tape, stuck against a tree, sticking out in the middle of the river".
"The team that was searching, when they went to the house, they found some things that were very, very suspicious", Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist said.
Greywind had last been seen by her family when she left their apartment on August 19, a Saturday evening. It is being said that everything the male and female neighbors told police indicated the little baby girl was the daughter of LaFontaine-Greywind.
The neighbors, 32-year-old Henry Hoehn and 38-year-old Brooke Lynn Crews, were arrested for conspiracy to commit kidnapping after police say they made statements that confirmed the baby's identity - though the police are performing DNA tests to be sure.More news: Champion Real Estate Investment Trust (2778.HK) Seeing Increased Action in Session
On Monday, Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd said it's time to shift the focus of the case from recovery to justice.
Todd said Greywind was a "victim of a cruel and vicious act of depravity". Kayakers out enjoying the Red River stumbled upon her body about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, near the bridge connecting 90th Avenue Northwest in rural Moorhead to Cass County. Crews told investigators that she arranged to have Savanna visit her apartment Saturday afternoon.
William Hoehn has been arrested in conjunction with her disappearance.
"It's stunning on the grounds that I knew her as a youth companion", said Jewel Azure, who volunteered for the hunt throughout the end of the week with her mom.More news: IL House passes school funding bill
William Hoehn and Brooke Crews are charged with killing Savanna Greywind of Fargo, N.D. when she was 8 months pregnant. Greywind never came home.
The neighbour of a dead pregnant woman has confessed to USA police she attempted to keep the baby for herself.
He did not say what charges would be filed against Crews and Hoehn, who have been held in the Cass County Jail since last week awaiting formal charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, a felony.
WDAY reported that Greywind was due to give birth on September 20 and had already decided with her long-time boyfriend, Ashton Matheny, to name the baby Haisley Jo. Police have so far declined to confirm speculation of fetal abduction, in which a pregnant woman is forced to give birth or a baby is forcibly removed from the mother's womb.More news: Google launches resource on the benefits of using certified Android devices
Bail is set for both Hoehn and Crews at $2,000,000 dollars, cash. The suspects were cooperative and there were no signs of a crime scene during those searches, he said.
