Legendaries Raikou, Entei and Suicune coming to Pokemon GO

01 September 2017

However, the ultimate Pokemon Legendary is still going to take some beating even if you're fully stocked with high-level Tyranitars. Raikou, the electric-type, will only be available in the Americas. The patch notes for update version 0.73.1 for Android and 1.43.1 for iOS confirmed that players can now spin the Photo Discs at Gyms with the Go Plus... Starting from August 31 and running for three months, each of the legendary beasts will be battling in various regions.

Entel, the Fire-type, is available in Africa and Europe. On September 30, 2017, their locations will shift. It's now thought that certain Pokemon will be exclusive to the Ex Raids so players will only be able to capture them by completing one of these events.

Suicune, a Water-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

While the legendary dogs are available to capture and battle, Niantic will also begin testing Pokémon GO's new Ex Raid Battle feature - formerly Exclusive Raid Battle - at select gyms, before making the feature available to users around the world.

Lastly, Niantic stated that Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be available for this limited time period. Finally, on October 31, they will make one last rotation and then presumably disappear from the game. This could have been assumed before but now it seems more likely.

The first EX Raid Passes are being sent out to players soon.

"We have collected some valuable early feedback on the new EX Raid Battle feature and will look to further test and hone the experience through the feedback of the dedicated global Trainer community", said Niantic.
