Google Launches Home Max and Home Mini Smart Speakers

05 October 2017

This service will be extended to UK. The flagship Google phones were the focal point of today's event, but the company also welcomed a new addition to their smart speaker line with the Google Home Mini. Users can get it in chalk or charcoal colour options. It is made out of fabric. It has four LED lights to let users know when it is active.

In terms of audio, the Home Mini offers 360-degree sound, though it's unlikely to rival the regular Home - or any decent speaker you have at home. It will retail for $49. It will arrive on October 19. Google is indeed stepping up their game when it comes to smart speakers. Nest says that it combine machine learning and gadgets to make people life easier.

Google Home now has a premium big brother. "Nest Hello along with Google Home would be able to automate door management for homes, security and many other home affairs", said Nest.

But back to Google Home Mini for a moment. This is a great initiative for kids as it will allow them to save their preferences as part of a linked family account. You'll be able to seamlessly integrate it with other Google Homes or other Chromecast-enabled devices, and the speaker can be oriented horizontally or vertically.

Google first introduced its Home speaker at last year's Google I/O conference.

Max will also automatically adjust to lower volume in morning, raise volume when dishwasher is running, and change volume if you're listening to news or music. It sounds impressive in theory and doesn't disappoint in practice, though it remains to be seen how the speaker's automatic reconfiguration systems will perform in environments that are less controlled than Google's convention venues. Another notable feature of the Home Max is the integrated noise isolating array, which means it can deliver powerful sound output even in open rooms with background noises. Google Max has Google Assistant built in it. It will go on sale for $399 in December. The device is equipped with 4.5-inch woofers that the company claims are of the high-excursion variety and features a rigid case structure specifically created to maintain the compositional integrity of the audio it produces. The Home Max also come with one year free YouTube Red and YouTube Music subscription for an ad-free experience.
