Conte reveals Chelsea plane scare on trip home from Azerbaijan

25 November 2017

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte insists that the lack of preparation time afforded his side for this weekend's game against Liverpool is "not right".

"But I look at Manchester United and they are around that area [near the top of the table] with a team that is very strong, especially due to their manager and for that Manchester United could be competitive towards the end of the season as well".

"Today we had a good training session and tried to prepare for Liverpool very well". I think that the first half, the way we went into the game, we have to go into the second half [like that] too.

Salah leads the Premier League scoring charts with nine goals in 12 appearances since joining from Roma for £34 million in the summer.

And Conte is annoyed that for the second time this season, the defending champions face a big match on a Saturday so soon after a hard away tie in Europe on a Wednesday. We have had two similar situations, also before a big game against Man City. The second half was very odd for many reasons, but they are a really good team defensively and offensively.

Conte will include Victor Moses in his squad for the match at Anfield after the wing-back recovered from a hamstring injury which has kept him out of action for six weeks.

"We must pay great attention tomorrow".

But if they come and play the way they can, and are more offensive, I think it plays into Liverpool's hands, it leaves space for the likes of Mane and Salah to capitalise.

"But I think that everybody at Chelsea knows what a great manager Conte is and I hope he stays and will be more successful".

"He is a technical player, but at the same time is very fast, very strong, very good in one-v-ones and very good at finishing".

Salah has been key for Jurgen Klopp this season.

On Salah's departure from west London, the Chelsea boss added: "It happened in the past and he was very young". She said, "Daddy, you look older with the beard".
