Hadiya spoke to waiting mediapersons at Nedumbassery airport while she was taken to Delhi for the Supreme Court hearing on the case.

Hadiya is in the custody of her parents following Kerala High Court order.

"I hope that the Supreme Court's decision comes in the favour of women", she added.

On Wednesday, the bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said that the application for in-camera hearing of the proceedings when Hadiya appears before the court on November 27 would be taken up on that day itself after a lawyer mentioned Asokan's application for an early hearing.

Shafin Jahan, Hadiya's Muslim husband, had moved the apex court after the Kerala High Court had annulled his marriage.

Kochi /Kottayam: At least one instance of the much-hyped "love jihad" seemed to come apart at the seams when Hadiya alias Akhila - a Hindu girl who converted to Islam and married a Muslim under alleged duress - stated publicly and unambiguously on Saturday, "No one forced me into embracing Islam". Shafin Jahan had stated in a police complaint that attempts were being made to reconvert Hadiya to Hinduism. "Nobody forced me to convert".

After allegations from Hadiya's father that the Kerala police is not probing the alleged links of Jahan with ISIS and Jahan's objection over NIA's probe into Hadiya-Jahan marriage annulment, the Supreme Court of India on October 30 had stressed that it would hear to Hadiya and then proceed with the case. "These attempts are being made in collusion with RSS activists for a ghar wapsi".

Hadiya's father had filed a petition in which he alleged that her daughter became the victim of love jihad.

The apex court had earlier observed that the free consent of a major to marriage has to be ascertained amid an assertion by National Investigation Agency (NIA) that an indoctrinated person may be incapable of giving free consent to marriage. They have two weeks to find a girl of another religion and six months to convert her to Islam.
