Actor and stand-up comedian Aziz Ansari, who recently won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series - Musical and Comedy, has been accused of sexual misconduct by a Brooklyn, New York based photographer.
According to her, Ansari conducted himself in an inappropriate manner after the date but refrained from explicitly calling the encounter a rape.
The woman said she met Ansari at an after-party for the Emmys in Los Angeles on September 17 when she noticed they had both brought the same kind of film cameras. The woman, known as Grace in the article, spells out the bad date details, saying he couldn't wait to finish dinner and get home.
Grace went on to claim that Aziz touched her repeatedly, and also tried to get her to touch him, and that he allegedly moved her hand to his penis numerous times.More news: Hundreds of vehicles gutted in parking garage blaze in Liverpool, UK
She endeavored to verbally convey her lack of engagement: "I said I would prefer not to feel constrained in light of the fact that then I'll detest you, and I'd rather not despise you", she said. "Most of my discomfort was expressed in me pulling away and mumbling", Grace said. "I stopped moving my lips and turned cold..." She messaged Ansari after the date, clarifying how awkward she'd felt: "The previous evening might've been a good time for you, however it wasn't for me".
Elegance said she endeavored to demonstrate her lack of engagement, yet Ansari pursued her around the flat as if he was executing "a football play".
'It was fun meeting you last night, ' the message read. "I didn't leave because I think I was stunned and shocked".More news: Bears hire Mark Helfrich as offensive coordinator
Throughout the course of the night, Grace alleges that Ansari kept trying to have sex with her-he briefly performed oral sex on her-even though she'd made it clear that she wasn't interested. They then got dressed and he allegedly continued to aggressively kiss her and stick his fingers down her throat before she left.
In a 2015 interview Aziz told Slate Magazine: "What I've learned, as a guy, is to just ask women questions and listen to what they have to say. I want to make sure you're aware so maybe the next girl doesn't have to cry on the ride home".
Others have taken to Twitter to share their own allegations of Ansari's misconduct toward them and their friends. Ansari purportedly replied, "Clearly, I misread things in the moment and I'm truly sorry".
The accuser says she came forward because she saw Ansari rocking a Times Up pin at the Golden Globes.More news: Hamas tunnel was built to blow up main humanitarian crossing to Gaza
