Crutches, tears humanize North Korean threat in Trump speech

The UN placed major restrictions on imports of oil and refined petroleum products to North Korea since its sixth nuclear test in September. USA officials have said the debate on military action has lost some momentum as a result of the North-South talks.

Washington agreed to consider the flight an exception to sanctions announced by the Trump administration in September that include banning vessels and aircraft that have visited North Korea from visiting the United States within 180 days, said Seoul's ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun, who didn't further elaborate on the talks. South Korea is also welcoming a delegation of North Korean athletes, officials and performers for next month's Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The senior Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Eliot Engel (NY), claims the Trump administration has "let Russian Federation off the hook yet again".
