Deputy Killed In Colorado Springs Shooting

Fallen Deputy Micah Flick from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office was shot and killed in the line of duty in Colorado Springs on Monday afternoon.

Two other sheriff's deputies have been shot and killed in Colorado since December 31. They were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries.

Hundreds pay their respects to El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Micah Flick during a procession in Colorado Springs. He is survived by a wife and 7-year-old twins.

Police in Colorado Springs say all suspects are accounted for after an incident that drew a massive law-enforcement response, but few details have been released.

In a statement, Gov. John Hickenlooper called the shooting a "senseless act of violence". He has done so many things in this department in his 11 years.

Douglas County deputy Zack Parrish was shot and killed on December 31, 2017 by a suspect who later died.

The suspect's name has not been released, and authorities said there are no other suspects.

A procession for Flick was held in Colorado on Monday night.

U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner said his "heart breaks for this deputy and his family".

Three other law enforcement officers were injured.

One woman whose husband worked with Deputy Flick remembered him fondly.

Another witness told the Colorado Springs Gazette he heard 8 to 9 shots.

Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm was killed January 24 and Douglas County sheriff's Deputy Zackari Parrish was killed on New Year's Eve. "We want each officer, every deputy, to know we are grateful for their service".
