Smartphone maker Xiaomi on Wednesday launched three new products in India - two smartphones and one TV. The acclaimed Redmi Note 4 was one of the best-selling smartphones in the mid-range price segment previous year, with over 9 million units shipped. That's not all, the bigger sibling of the new Redmi Note series feature vertically stacked dual rear cameras. The Redmi Note 5 comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM variant, while the 4GB RAM option is priced at Rs 11,999. The 6GB RAM variant is a great prospect for users who multitask a lot. Both the devices will be Flipkart-exclusive, although they're likely to be available for buying from Xiaomi's own online Mi.com/in store.
Unfortunately, there's no word on the pre-installed Android version, which probably means both the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro will be running Nougat-based MIUI at launch. The phone has a fingerprint scanner on the back and supports hybrid dual SIM cards. More on that later. Xiaomi, to recall, globally launched the Mi A1 in India and by the looks of it, the Redmi Note 5 may be heading to that road as well. As per reports, the most awaited Redmi Note 5 might feature a 5.99 inch screen with a Full HD+ resolution with an aspect ratio of 18:9.More news: Auto Expo 2018 highlights: Electric Vehicles steal the limelight
The new Redmi 5 Pro offers Qualcomm's freshest octa-core Snaprdragon 636 processor with Kryo 260 CPU cores clocked at 1.8GHz, and Adreno 509 graphics. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 625 processor, and there are two variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
We had a very brief moment with the Mi TV 4, and we found the TV to be very well built, and it had a very fast UI. For selfies, it comes with a 5 Megapixel front camera with LED flash.More news: SBI Q3 earnings today: 4 things to watch out for
Its display size is around a 55-inch with 4K HDR picture quality. Adding to the line of products today is the Xiaomi Mi TV 4.
Mi TV 4 will be exclusively available on Flipkart for the price of 39,999 INR. You can hook it up to your home network using the 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Unlike the Redmi Note 5, it has Beautify 4.0 software which will result in better portrait mode photos, the company claims. On top of this, buyers will get free installation - priced at Rs. 1,099 - from the company on purchasing the Mi TV 4 within 3 months of release.More news: United Kingdom charity responds to Haiti misconduct claims
