On AAP vs Delhi Chief Secretary tussle, Rajnath says 'deeply pained'

The drama unfolded around 12 am when Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was summoned to Kejriwal's residence for a meeting on releasing stuck TV advertisements to commemorate three years of the AAP government in Delhi.

As the blame game over the alleged manhandling of the Delhi chief secretary by few AAP MLAs escalated on Tuesday, Anshu Prakash wrote to DCP North over the incident. There was a meeting of MLAs at CM residence.

"The incident which has happened at the official residence of the chief minister clearly appears to pre-planned, pre-meditated and absolutely without any provocation on the part of the chief secretary in view of the fact that the meeting was called at midnight". The BJP has stooped very low in disrupting governance in Delhi through the LG and officers. "Can you imagine this happening with ministers of other states in their state government's secretariat?" Prakash also met Union home minister Rajnath Singh.

The officials were quite upset with the development and DN Singh, the president of Delhi Administrative Subordinate Services, called for a strike until the accused were arrested. Hussain also lodged a complaint at the IP Estate police station.

The Leader of the Opposition, Vijender Gupta, said that the AAP had "lost the right to continue in power".

According to a source in the chief minister's office, there was a heated argument between the lawmakers and the chief secretary, but no MLA indulged in any violence. "None of the persons present in the room made any effort to save me", he said in the complaint. "The attack on the Chief Secretary is an attempt to intimidate the bureaucracy to toe the line by the powers that be".
