Epic Games has been handling Fortnite's Battle Royale component very well over the past few months.

The battle royale format has rocketed both PUBG and Fortnite to success, with PUBG recently becoming the third highest-selling game on Steam, and Fortnite becoming the most-watched and most-streamed game on Twitch. One thing I love about wave-based games is that they, for the most part, respect their players' time.

Once you've been accepted into the game, you'll receive an email from Epic Games where you can activate your account and subsequently log into the Fortnite app on iOS. We'll soon begin building the teams, so stay tuned for more information on the event.

It's unclear whether this will be a competitive playlist or something more concrete like a franchise league that we've seen for the likes of Overwatch or H1Z1. It's best to upgrade now if you have been waiting for the game to arrive.

Fortnite version 3.3 adds in Remote Explosives, which you can use to detonate opponent's fortresses in quick fashion.

Factors that contribute to the order in which players receive invites include sign up order, proximity to a data center, and device model, among other factors.

Fortnite Battle Royale on iOS (and eventually on Android as well) will be identical to the game that millions of people have been playing on PC and consoles since past year.
