Prosecutors say 29-year-old Thomas Latanowich, of Somerville, was charged with killing a police officer in Barnstable District Court on Friday and is being held without bail after pleading not guilty. He was inside a Blueberry Lane home when Gannon attempted to serve the warrant.

A K-9 officer has been shot and killed while serving a warrant at a MA home and a suspect has been taken into custody. Gannon was shot in the head during that interaction.
