MARTIN LUTHER 14, ST. CATHERINE'S 4: A seven-run first inning proved to be too much to overcome for the Angels in a Metro Classic Conference game at Greendale.

Dylan Yoder led the Bees at the plate, batting 3-4 with a double, a triple, and two RBIs. Grace Ann Clark was 1-3 with 2 RBIs.

On Monday, the Spartans beat Community Christian School 13-0.

With two outs, Jolee Hastings reached base on an error that resulted in Nuckols crossing home plate before Gerdes crossed home plate on a Hayden walk. Five of those strikeouts came in the final three frames.

Hayden went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and Maddy Foellner hit 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

On offense, the Wildcats benefited from nine walks issued by Tiger pitchers, including three to lead-off hitter Laura Sheaffer, who scored two runs. Yancey, Roberson, Jordan Jones, Jordan Dunn, Hannah Brewer, Cailey Thomas and MacKenzie Pendergrass each had multiple hits.

Kaylah Briddell had two hits in three at-bats for the Indians in the win over the Eagles. Kazlin Beers also had two hits and scored two runs, while Sydney Bigelow had a double. The Eagles tacked on a solo home run in the inning and an RBI single before the third out.

Brown singled home a run before Closser tripled home two more runs.

Spence struck out seven batters in four innings for the win, while Claxon came in to strike out three in two innings.

Superior took the lead for good with five runs in the top of the second inning.

WOODBRIDGE 4, POTOMAC 2: Jakobe Anderson's double in the fourth inning providing the game-winning runs in the Vikings' Cardinal District win. Gaines then scored courtesy of a second straight Lady Lion error, this time by shortstop Haydyn Jenkins on an infield ground ball off the bat of Lenna Robinson.

The Dragons return to action on Thursday when they host Adams County rival North Adams at 5 p.m.
