It was Bellew's 30th victory as a professional, and his 10th in succession which takes his record to a superb 30-2-1. And then a big left hook by Bellew sent Haye down for a the third time. Cancel in time and you've basically got Haye vs Bellew for free.

With his timing off and desperation showing, Haye was swinging for the fences in the third. I don't think he needs to fight on anymore, but he could definitely afford to if there are some impassable opportunities out there. But speed decreases with age.

But as it turned out Bellew had Haye's number once again, and after the opening two rounds, where Haye just about out fought his opponent, Bellew stepped up a notch and dominated the 37 year old.

I want the referee to count to 10. I am a walking Super Series. I don't need a man who is about nine foot trying to punch my face in when he's back to his best.

By his own admission, Bellew was not mentally ready for a rematch in late 2017, which was postponed when Haye needed surgery on a biceps injury.

Haye came out early and landed a couple of right hands.

By the fourth Hayes was looking sluggish, with his back foot slightly dragging as Bellew smelt blood. In Round three, the Liverpudlian broke through, with two big knockdowns of the former champion, Haye being saved by the bell. The punch crashed into Haye's chin, sending him to the canvas awkwardly as his left leg remained slack and motionless.
