Twitter rips Hawks for trading Luka Doncic away

The Dallas Mavericks pulled off one of the biggest coups in the draft when they acquired top European prospect Luka Doncic. The Mavericks are also sending a protected first-round pick to Atlanta.

Another buzzworthy move was when the Sixers traded Villanova's Mikal Bridges, whom they selected with the No. 10 pick, to the Suns in exchange for the draft rights to No. 16 pick Zhaire Smith and a 2021 first rounder (via Miami).

Dallas will nearly certainly start these four players: Dennis Smith, Wesley Matthews, Harrison Barnes, and Doncic.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who have reached the NBA Finals the last four years, picked Collin Sexton at number eight and the new point guard had a message to superstar LeBron James, who is now debating where he will play next season.

Smith averaged 15.2 points and 5.2 assists per game as a rookie last season and was widely viewed as one of the better picks of the draft. Luka is his own guy. He wore No. 7 with Real Madrid. Doncic was slated to be traded to the Dallas Mavericks as long as Trae Young was still up for grabs at #5.

Doncic was named as the Euroleague MVP, Euroleague Final Four MVP and the ACB Liga MVP. Based on Pelton's calculations, which take into account age and how other European prospects' statistics have translated to National Basketball Association production, Doncic's WARP projection isn't just higher than Ricky Rubio's and Nikola Jokic's - it's also the highest projection on record, even besting that of a young Anthony Davis. "That's why I want to remain guarded in my comments".

"I will tell about all at the right time", he said.

And the Mavericks came away with a solid haul, including Luka Doncic. Nowitzki was the last major global draft prospect the Mavericks drafted, which turned out well for the franchise to say the least. When they say you're not going to be good, I say, let's see.

The reigning champions Golden State Warriors, who have beaten the Cavs in three of the last four Finals, added shooting guard Jacob Evans with the 28th pick.

No. 19. Atlanta Hawks: Aaron Holiday, UCLA The Hawks need a point guard and the third of the three Holiday brothers (Jrue and Justin) is the ideal fit.
